Everything I did at OpenUK

I was first introduced by Tiana Lea from Photography, Ravensbourne University London, to OpenUK in my first year of uni, around Christmas time. I didn’t have much experience with working in a creative scene in the UK and it was 3 months after I moved here so I started freelancing for the conference event design, for the State of Open Con 23. After that Amanda Brock, CEO of OpenUK, invited me to International Woman’s Day celebration at the top of the BT Tower where I helped with creating the candle label designs and the presentation designs. I interned there in the summer of 2023 and became a full-time employee by September 2023. I worked on different reports, data infographics, event designs, conference designs, but also managed the websites with WordPress and front-end coding, publishing newsletters with MailChimp, and backend adminstrative works. I took the role of Lead Designer in September 2024 and left the role at February 2025. Here is everything (big and published) I did at OpenUK.

State of Open Conference 23-24-25

Brand Identity Event Design
State of Open Con is the UK's Open Technology Conference on Open Source Software, Open Hardware, Open Data, Open Standards, & AI Openness. As a graphic designer working for OpenUK, the most important job for me is to create a visual identity and event design for the annual conference, State of Open Conference. I was the only in-house designer and I created all the designs from print to digital. Here are some of the photos from the events from 2023, 2024, and 2025. Photos taken by Tiana Lea, Tom Bulloch and Macky Mann.

2024

For 2024 event, the brand wanted to be more playful with patterns and colours, so I build onto the circle and the brand colours and created this beautiful branding.

More, soon. I’m wrapping up my position at OpenUK...
