Celestial Petals

Augmented Reality, 3D

❀ Celestial Petals: Quest for the Everlasting Bloom ❀  is an immersive AR game where the user will act as a time-traveling scientist from 2888 from the land of URA-PRA (pronounced Uurah-Purahh), while racing to preserve London's cherry blossoms .𖥔 ݁ ˖𑁍 ⋆ ⋆。

This game included a phyiscal game pack that consists of 5 AR filters, on a mission to find and collect cherry blossoms in London. The physical game box includes the instruction manual, storyline card, captain access card, and the AR NFC chips to access the filters which will bring the user to the Instagram filter page). Because Meta Spark discontinued, here are screen captured videos of the project.

This map shows 14 places where the user can (actually) go for a cherry blossom hunt. The way markers are put on the map randomly as the user can go to any place on the list first and they can use whichever filter to get into the game.

These way markers are placed on the map, the instruction cards and the playing chips. The first image is the only image used as a target tracker.

Filter 1: Celestial Mission

This is a face scanner to check the identity of the user and welcome with the narration from the personal assistant back from the future The user will be greeted as the “Captain” with the blue chrome visor influenced by cyber-sigilism style.

Filter 2: Celestial Petals

Once the user scans the way marker above, it will bring them to the cherry blossom field with the petals falling from above and the user has the option to wear or take off the makeup by tapping the screen. The video will also be pink tinted to transport the user to the cherry garden.

Filter 3: Sakura Garden

The third one is a cherry blossom garden, because the user already collected the cherry blossoms, the portal will allow the user to transport the cherry blossoms, and the filter shows the portal with three cherry blossom trees that the user can interact with.

Filter 4: Sakura Power

The fourth filter is the cherry blossom power which tracks the user’s hands to show the cherry blossom flower on the hands, which means the user has completely collected the flowers.

Filter 5: Triumphant Return

The last filter is the way back home, which now the user is in space with the captain head visor, stars shooting in the back, and the narration will welcome the user to the future. I removed the target tracker before publishing to Meta Spark Hub because it was taking too long to load.

Unboxing video of the “❀ Celestial Petals: Quest for the Everlasting Bloom ❀ ” Game Pack

This project “Celestial Petals” makes the user immersed as the scientist from URA-PRA using the 5 AR filters published on Meta Spark Hub. These filters are available on Facebook and Instagram. This project’s purpose is to make the user go to cherry blossom places, enjoy the scenic view and collect the cherry blossom moments via the AR filters. Since the cherry blossoms bloom for only a short period, this project requires the user to act on a time constrict. The filters use target tracking, face tracking, hand tracking, plane tracking and sound.
